YOU CAN PICK YOUR FRIENDS…
BUT YOU MUST ALSO PICK YOUR MELONS!
PICKING YOUR FRUITS
Since all you’re going to be eating are the three types of melon for a few days at a time each, you want to get good stuff. Buy organic and make sure they’re ripe. It’s also a good idea to buy them ahead of time. Cantaloupe keeps for many days and usually ripens and sweetens more with time. So plan on buying some Cantaloupe a few days before you start. Same with watermelons and Papayas.
ABOUT CANTALOUPE
There’s a method to selecting good cantaloupes. If you take a cantaloupe and push on either side with your palms where the stem and the butt are and it moves a little that means it’s ripe. Secondly you can smell the stem. It looks like a belly button at the top. If it smells fruity then generally that means the fruit will be ripe and sweet.
ABOUT WATERMELONS
Cantaloupes and Papayas always have seeds in them. But Watermelons come in seedless and seeded varieties. Both are fine, but fruit with seeds is always more powerful because it has the vibration of those seeds in it. Whenever possible I try to get seeded watermelons. If you can’t find them, it’s fine, you’ll do just as well. Watermelons keep very well for a while, especially when refrigerated so buy them early and stock up.
ABOUT PAPAYAS
Papayas are supposed to be super ripe, overripe even. They should look like they are rotting. Seriously. Mexican Papayas are the big orange ones and often look like they have acne scars lol. There is sometimes mold starting to form on the little pockets on the outside. This is actually the kind you want because it indicates the papaya is ripe enough and generally sweeter. The other kind of papaya is the Hawaiian variety. That one is smaller and yellowish in color. The seeds of the papaya are also very interesting. They have a mustardy taste and kill parasites. You can dry out the papaya seeds and use them like peppercorns in a grinder. It makes a very good seasoning that’s healthy for you.
GOOD LUCK & GET ORGANIZED
Make sure and review the parameters of the diet and psych yourself up. We start in about 8 days. Sketch out a plan for buying your fruit and having it ready. You might not want to go shopping when you’re in the midst of the diet. DOn’t forget to buy some good raw honey and lots of lemons for those three days of Lemon-Honey water on both sides of the diet. Lemons keep well in the fridge so stock up early.
REMINDERS
Do not drink anything ice cold while on this diet. When on the various types of melon for three days at a time, you’re supposed to only eat that melon. Some people ask: “can I put lime on the cantaloupe, or can I put salt and pepper on the watermelon.” NO! Eat only the prescribed fruit at that time.
BEGIN TO PREPARE FOR THE END (OF THE FAST)
Ending a fast is as important as beginning and sticking to one. There are countless stories of people who, while fasting, project what they’re gonna eat when they’re off the diet. This leads to an anticipation and some people will eat heavy foods right at the end, making themselves sick. Your system is very delicate when you finish fasting, especially for nearly a month. Your body is reset to factory settings almost. It’s like being a baby again. You have to break the fast with different fruits at first, then some vegetables, yogurt if you like and then gradually other foods.
DOCTOR. DOCTOR? DOCTOR!!!
Don’t forget– always check with your doctor before starting any diet or fast. This is ancient yogic technology and is in now way to be confused with medical advice. However, many people have done these fasts and diets and reported tremendous results.
Good Luck! You can do it!
